Kitties!!!

Hello all...

I'm sitting here on the couch stickering the trophies for all the contests on Tuesday at the IKEA Summer Picnic. All morning I watched as the little kitties ran around and played with each other. Now they're all tuckered out. One is sleeping on one recliner and the other is sleeping on the other recliner. Soooo cute...

Just thought I would give an update... so far so good! I'll post pictures later.

What a week

It's been a crazy week at work. Soooooo busy, but its over!

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend, although there is a ton of stuff that needs to be done around this place, plus we're getting a visitor today for the week! Sandy and Amanda are heading off to Missouri for some quality time with family and pick up little Shamus (If they still think I'm not going to steal him, they've got another thing coming.) and we're going to be taking care of their kitten and when I say kitten... I mean KITTEN.

So that's about it. I'll be here all weekend mostly cleaning, if you'd like to stop by for a visit, I would love the company. That's about it.

I'm off to get started. Have a wonderful day!

Why I love where I work…

I am at work today and a few months ago, we received a new Policies and Procedures Manual from the Service Office (or if you watch The Office you know it as home of Jan Levinson-formally Gould, Corporate).

Because HR is always running on level 50 while in that building, I have yet to actually get a chance to sit down and read through the entire new manual. My manager told us the other day that we really should make it a priority to read through it considering all of the training we’re currently doing around it along with the fact that it is extremely robust now and we need to be familiar with everything in it.

So, today, so far, is a pretty slow day. There aren’t too many people around and the people that are here, are all out on the floor in their respective departments and not bothering me in the Admin. Area. (Scratch that… I just had to go down and help replenish the floor because it was left a mess this morning and we had 45 minutes to get it in order before the store opened. I’m back now though… albeit all gross and yucky)

Anyway, I’m reading the section on Diversity and there is a bullet that says that we are learning and performing organization that draws on coworker’s uniqueness. What is great is to know that I can be completely and open at work and not have to worry about whether people are going to give me a hard time for being gay. (What? You’re gay?! GASP!) So, that alone is wonderful but to know that I can be of help to people because of it is even better. For example, a few days ago, I got called into our HR office (I sit on the outside of the office) and was asked to chat with a coworker about my last relationship and the break-up I went through with her because we were registered as Domestic Partners and everything was completely meshed, which happen to also be the situation of this coworker. So we chatted for a while and this coworker is doing very well which makes me happy.

To work for a company that allows me to be out and open at work is wonderful. To work for a company that calls on me to help coworkers because of my outness is nothing short of amazing.

Not So Smart...

So I thought I was a genius by taking a 4-day weekend last weekend without taking any extra days off. They were all just my day off. Now... because of that... I had to work this week Tuesday-Saturday. Its now Saturday and I'm being faced with the fact that I have to work today, I have one day off and then I have to work another 5 days in a row. Not so smart. Yuck!

Blahhhh

Soooooo tired.

So my 4 day weekend is coming to a close and I'm quite sad. I really am not motivated to go back to work at all. My Kelly has a lot of stress going on and I want nothing more than make it go away but I can't. It makes me sad.

I do have to say though that I had an amazing day yesterday. I went to the Island of Rhodes to see my nephew's baseball game. I got to hold my beautiful Godson, Brendan quite a bit and feed him. It was very exciting. Then... my brother let me borrow his playstation 2, so I went out and got Guitar Hero... THE GREATEST GAME EVER!

That's pretty much it. I'm going to go rest some till my darling gets home and hopefully I can help her let go of some of that stress. No, not that way you dirty pigs!

Till next time...

Sad...

So Family Fun Night was enjoyable... Great company... my impressive spread of food... and good laughs.

But as much as last night was great... I find myself a little somber today because Miss Laura leaves for Guatamala tomorrow and she'll be gone for 3 months. I can't imagine what Carrie must be going through.

so my friend... safe travels... obviously you will be missed and we are going to party hard on the 4th and especially when you get back. Have fun spreading your warmth and knowledge around an area that could use a good dose of Laura...

Confirmation

Hello there my little chickens....

For those of you who are unaware, I am my cousin's Confirmation Sponsor and tonight is the Confirmation. So I am embarking on my trip home in just a few minutes, but I thought I would leave a happy little message for my peeps before I head out. So the garments for tonight.... I am wearing a black skirt (yup, I said skirt), a lime green sleevless top and black sandal thingies... One thing though... my boobs look HUGE in the top... Kelly's response: "your boobs ARE huge!" Yes, I understand this... but they look especially HUGE in this top... oh well... there will be pictures... trust that.

Ok, I'm off. I'm back tomorrow... have a wonderful day.
