New York, New York...

Hello there friends!

I would just like to recap my day for you folks because it was so wonderful!

So after two purely HELLISH days at the good ol' blue and yellow building, I went into work this morning, very tired and quickly burning out. I said to myself when I walked in that I was going to make it a slow day because the past two days I had worked so extremely hard.

Up until last night, I forgot that today was the day that my dear ol' dad and my brother were going to the city (New York City for all you folks that aren't down with the CT, NY, NJ lingo) and had originally wanted me to come with them, but I had to turn the invite down because I knew this week would be so busy and there wouldn't be an option for me to take time out from work.

So, I talked to my dad this morning while he was on the road and was feeling a little bummed that I couldn't go. Then, Wonderful Yvonne said to me "why aren't you going?" and I proceeded to tell her that I only worked a 4 day week last week and we were so busy this week, blah blah blah. Basically my wonderful coworkers/friends Yvonne and Deana insisted that I go and that they would take care of the boss for me.

So Dad and Tim came and picked me up from work and took me home. I changed and Brie Brie drove us to the train station, so we wouldn't have to pay for parking (not that we would have found a place to park anyway). We hopped on the train and took it in. Now, being that I know the city (again, New York City for those less skilled in our lingo) so well, I acted as the guide for the day. (Before I continue, can I just say that my dad is absolutely adorable. When I told him on the phone that I was going with them, he was like "Good, now I won't get lost because I'll have my own personal guide with me" Soooooo cute!) We walked out of Grand Central and took the walk that I took EVERY SINGLE DAY for 8 months while I was working in the city. We walked down Park Ave. to the building I used to work in. We then cut across and walked down to the Empire State Building and actually went to the top (a first for me). It was so great, although I got really REALLY tired of hearing about "Tony's Audio Tour" anyone that's been up in the past few months know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

After the Empire State Building, we had lunch at Wendy's across the street (Madalyn.. I saw our SUBWAY and got a little teary... ok, maybe not teary... but it did bring about warm tingly feeling inside... MEEEMMOORRIES, FROM THE CORNERS OF MY MINDDDD) From Wendy's, we walked down past Macy's (my dad's a big fan of the Thanksgiving Parade, so it was cool for him to see the painted street) and then up Broadway to Times Square. From Times Square, we walked up to Rockafella Center and saw the tree, went in the NBC Experience and the Metropolitan Museum of Art Shop (fun fun.. I didn't buy anything for all you wondering).

Then we walked over to St. Peter's Cathedral and went in and walked around there a bit, which was beautiful. You don't realize how beautiful of a building it is when you're 17 years old. From there, we walked up to FAO Schwartz (which is still open, unlike what some people are lead to believe, although they changed it BIG TIME! oh, and incase anyone was wondering how much that HUGE elephant and giraffe are.. they're $15,000 each) Then, we walked back to Grand Central and hopped back on the train to come home. I got my Thursday magazines. My brother and I ripped on some celebrities and that was about it.

Now, I'm just sitting here with a beer (because we're out of soda) and watching The Apprentice!

That's my day. It was a great day and I just thought I would share. Hope everyone else had a good day. I shall talk to you all later.

ADIOS!
