What up G??!
Hello all my bloggy friends. I have had many requests to blog and let all you wonderful peeps what's been going on. So here I am.
What's been going on lately? WORK...
All I do is work, but at least I can say that I have a job to go to everyday and work with great people that make the day go by faster.
Tomorrow is a big day for us IKEA folk. The almighty Ingvar will be in our store tomorrow. Now, you people must understand how big this is. Ingvar, for anyone who doesn't know, is the founder and owner of IKEA. In fact, IKEA stands for Ingvar Kamprad (his name) Elmtaryd (the farm on which he grew up) Aggunard (the village in which his farm was located). Now, Ingvar is 78 years young and he will be entering our wonderful New Haven store at 5:30am at which time, he will go down into our warehouse and go pallet by pallet and inspect all of our stock to make sure its up to his standard. THEN, he will climb into one of our delivery trucks and see how our after sales people packed it. THEN, he will tour the store. THEN, he will talk to coworkers and customers and ask them questions about IKEA. Folks, this is a HUGGGEE deal. He only visits 15 stores per year. Mind you, we have over 200 stores worldwide. On top of that, he will probably never be back in New Haven ever again, and on top of that, our store manager who has been with the company for 15 years has never met the man. This is a really huge thing for us and am I working? NOPE!!! I will be stress-free tomorrow. Although, I will make an appearance in the morning.
So the news as it stands now, from what I understand, there have been many many talks of making me a permanent coworker, which means... BENEFITS. I was told today that there was a discussion about it. Everyone, from what I am told by a nameless source, feels that I am too valuable to lose. The question now is $$$. So we'll see what happens. Maybe I'll get a wonderful Christmas present and we can move out of this closet that we live in.
In other news... MY BIRTHDAY IS ON MONDAY!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYY. I happen to share my birthday with a good friend who frequents this blog often. Even if she is 3 minutes older. WHATEVER!!! It's all good. I plan to enjoy my birthday with the love of my life and relax.
